With The Asylum, you can: find, share, and post status updates, photos, and links; take part in one of the quizzes; create, personalise, and keep a personal mental health blog and/or journal; start a poll; get involved on the forums; ask and/or respond to mental health questions; comment on posts, activity, and blogs that have been published throughout The Asylum's mental health support network; interact with other members directly; and much more.
The Asylum is a members-only resource, which means you will need to register for free to gain access to this service.
The "Get Connected" element of the Get Your 5-a-Day initiative suggests to spend time with people you may know such as family members, next-door neighbours, friends, or work colleagues. Try to leave your home environment to see and meet these people; for example, maybe you could go in to town and meet a friend for a coffee or just go for a walk with them. These people can be an important part of your support network, so investing the time in to these relationships is useful for your sense of self-esteem as well as overall mental wellbeing.
The Asylum complies with the Twisted Asylum Mental Health Service Framework and correlates to the "Get Connected" section of the "Get Your 5-a-Day" strategy.
